Time to Break Away

As children, it was ingrained in our little minds that adding is good for us. Every day something new is being thrown at us. What nobody’s going to tell you and what most people don’t know is breaking away is the secret.

Take a look at your life now. Are you where you want to be? You can add but adding is not going to take you where you want to go. The adding mindset is so deeply ingrained in our subconscious that many of us can’t seem to break away from it.

It’s simple to add things to our lives, but it’s difficult to remove or breakaway. In a physical aspect, for example, you can take a look at your closet or your storage, and you will find a lot of useless items that you haven’t touch for years.  When you find them, often you need to throw them away because they became damaged from not using it.

The most unsuccessful people I know tend to gravitate towards conflict, say yes to nearly everything, easily drawn to distractions, and dwell on emotional obstacles. On the other side, the most successful people I know are primarily focused on their goals, protective of their time, say no to nearly everything, and have separated themselves from traditional beliefs.

There are more people dying from eating too much than eating too little. Many of us are carrying too much baggage along with too many obligations, when it’s better to travel light.

Breaking away is a reminder of changes I need to make in my life and not bring on additional stuff that ultimately will serve no purpose in getting me where I need to be.
